The 8 most beautiful beaches in Majorca

Let's head off without further ado to discover the island's most beautiful coves and beaches and enjoy its crystal-clear waters.

Sa Calobra Beach

After driving through the splendid Serra de Tramuntana in the north-west of the island, you'll arrive at this superb beach made up of two small coves. Located on the Costa Rocosa, the 12 km road to get there is incredible and offers spectacular panoramas. Particularly popular with canyoning fans, Sa Calobra is one of the most beautiful beaches in Majorca thanks to its colours and the torrent that flows into the Mediterranean Sea. Once there, you'll find a car park at the entrance, then allow 10 to 15 minutes on foot to reach it. Alternatively, you can also take a boat from Sóller.

To reach the Torrent de Pareis, an equally paradisiacal neighbouring cove, take the nearby tunnel carved into the cliff. To be more flexible and independent during your stay in Majorca, consider hiring a car so you can visit the most beautiful places in Majorca at your own pace. To get the best deals and prices, book it now.

Cala Santanyí

Set off to explore this cove, a former pirate hideout. 80 metres long and more than 130 metres wide, it's an ideal beach for families and easy to reach. Even if it's less wild than the others, it's just as beautiful and is one of our favourite beaches in Majorca. Nearby, you can go diving (there's a club next door). You'll find a few shops and restaurants for lunch on site.

Cala s'Amarador

Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places in Majorca, this beach is the ideal spot for swimming in turquoise waters, coming with the family or snorkelling. Lined with pine forests, it is part of the Mondragó Natural Park in the south-east of the island.

Once there, you'll find a paid car park, but it goes to a good cause: the upkeep of the park.

Cala Figuera Beach

If you're planning a visit to Cap de Formentor, take the opportunity to discover this superb pebble beach in Majorca in the municipality of Santanyí. A wild cove in an unspoilt place just the way we like them, a real postcard setting! To get there, park at the car park at the entrance to the village; allow about 20 minutes on foot. Again, bring good trainers for walking, as the path is rocky. With a bit of luck, you might see a few goats on the beach. It's also a very good spot for snorkelling, though difficult to reach with young children.

Playa de Muro

Located in a pretty seaside resort, between Port d'Alcúdia and Can Picafort, this white sand beach is among the most beautiful places to see in Majorca. We're especially fans of its crystal-clear, shallow waters, ideal for family swimming or lazing around.

Cala Varques

A hidden gem on the east coast of the island, this secluded beach is reached after a short walk through a very natural landscape. On arrival, turquoise waters and fine sand await you. Surrounded by limestone cliffs and lush vegetation, Cala Varques is a haven of peace for those looking to relax away from the tourists. You can also go snorkelling or kayaking.

Cala Llombards

Not far from the little port of Cala Figuera is this dream beach! A little gem on the island of Majorca that you absolutely must not miss.  Easily accessible with its small car park nearby, you just need to go down a few steps to get there. You'll then be dazzled by the colour of the water, which looks like a life-size swimming pool with a few green and white fishermen's huts in the distance (the colours of Majorca).

Cala Mesquida Beach

This beach in the north of Majorca is one of Tripadvisor's Travellers' Choice! A sublime cove of fine sand with turquoise waters, it is easily accessible and has a car park nearby.

Declared a "Natural Area of Special Interest" in 1991 by the Balearic Government, its dunes are perfectly preserved. A true earthly paradise! What's more, if you like scuba diving, you'll love observing the rocky seabed of this magnificent cove.

Playa Es Trenc

Here is another of the most beautiful beaches in Majorca to see if you're on holiday in the south of the island. Es Trenc is a long 2 km white sand beach with waters as clear as the Caribbean. It is also a protected natural area on this Balearic island.

Valldemossa

Located in the Serra de Tramuntana, this small village is considered an enchanting place for its authenticity and its sandstone houses with charming green shutters. The main square is dominated by the Monastery, where Chopin, the Polish composer, took refuge when he came to the island. In this pueblo, you'll see, time seems to have stopped. It's the moment to try the local pastries made with Coca de Patatas and Granizado de Almendra. For this, we recommend the village's most typical bakery: Can Molinas with its magnificent inner garden. Another place if you're a little hungry is the legendary and traditional Quitapenas! Ask for the famous Pa amb Oli (bread with oil), a typical Majorcan dish.

Don't leave Majorca without seeing this magnificent Phoenician town. We especially love its fully pedestrianised town centre, with its pretty, typically Majorcan shops. The ideal moment for a bit of shopping and to bring back a few souvenirs from your holiday. If you're staying nearby, we recommend planning an evening stroll to immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere there. An absolute must. You can have dinner under a starry sky in one of the little restaurants lining the port of Alcúdia.

Here is the last on the list, also among the most beautiful villages in Majorca: Artà, located inland. Dominated by the Sanctuary of Sant Salvador where you can admire the view, it was formerly home to a sumptuous Arab fortress. Often described as the meeting point of the winds, it is an emblematic place in Majorca where you can admire spectacular landscapes. An unforgettable experience in deep connection with nature. A magical place that invites contemplation in an exceptional natural setting.

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its cultural landscape, the Serra de la Tramuntana is a range of majestic mountains stretching along the entire north-west coast of Majorca. Las Cuevas del Drach, the most beautiful cave in Majorca

Located on the east coast of the island near Porto Cristo, these caves are the most spectacular and magical in Majorca. During the visit, you'll appreciate its vast caverns, as well as its extraordinary rock formations of stalactites and stalagmites. But the highlight of the visit is above all its incredible underground lake, Lake Martel. You can sail in a small boat on the lake's crystal-clear waters, lit by a fairytale play of lights. The climax of the visit comes with a live classical concert creating an almost surreal atmosphere. This natural wonder is undoubtedly among the most beautiful places in Majorca to see.
